Split Privacy Policy
Split works without accounts. This policy explains what is still processed to provide and protect the service.
Effective July 21, 2026
Data in a Split space
We store the space title, participant labels, expenses, receipts, transfers, balances, revisions, and operational timestamps you enter. This data is connected to an unguessable private link rather than a registered profile. Anyone with that complete link can access it.
Technical, support, and analytics data
We process limited request and security logs needed to deliver and protect Split, plus messages you send to support. On public pages only, and only after consent, Google Analytics receives limited device, page, and interaction data. Private /s/ workspace routes are not sent to Google Analytics.
Purpose and retention
Space data is processed to perform the shared tracking service; technical data to maintain security and reliability; support messages to answer you; public-page analytics to improve the product. We retain data only as long as needed for these purposes, recovery, and legal obligations. Anonymous spaces may remain available until deletion or product retention rules apply.
Sharing and processors
Infrastructure providers process data only as needed to operate Split. Google Analytics is contacted only after consent on public pages and may process data in other countries under its safeguards. We do not sell personal data. Keep private links within the intended group.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time. Because there are no accounts, include the private link or other details needed to locate the relevant space. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
