Split Terms of Use

These terms explain the agreement you make when you create, open, or edit a Split space.

Effective July 21, 2026

Accepting these terms

By creating a space, opening its private link, or using Split, you accept these Terms and the Privacy and Cookie policies. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

What Split does

Split records expenses, receipts, transfers, balances, and shared history. It is an organisational tool: it does not hold or move money, verify that a payment occurred, collect debts, or provide financial, tax, or legal advice. Currencies are tracked independently and are never converted automatically.

Private links and equal access

No account or owner is attached to a space. Everyone holding the private link has equal rights to see and change its data. Treat the full link as a confidential access credential, share it only with intended participants, and create a new space if it is exposed.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for lawful use, the accuracy of entries, the consent of people whose names or expenses you add, and real-world settlements. Do not enter card numbers, account credentials, identity documents, or sensitive personal data. Availability and calculations are provided on an as-available basis to the extent permitted by law.

Changes and termination

We may improve, change, suspend, or retire features and update these terms when the service or law changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented reasonably before taking effect.
